Dear colleagues,
There are two important areas regarding implementation of scientif ic and research activities: conducting quality scientific research and
publishing the results of scientific and professional research, in order to provide benefits to the scientific research and business community.
Science and all its segments have the essential task of researching life and aspects necessary for life, i.e. investigating the origin and essence of phenomena in us and around us, improving the quality of living and operating, developing the economy and societies as a whole etc.
For the implementation of scientific research processes, human resources and infrastructure potentials are very important, which in continuous, long-term action, in the environment of clear and supportive strategies, can only bring good results, new values and a better future. Therefore, the connection of public management institutions, the academic sector and business entities is the only true model in which everyone has its own important role and significance.
Basic research and applied scientific research are, among other forms, the most important ones, because they reveal causes, mechanisms and bring solutions to specific life and economic needs. Therefore, it is of particular importance to publish practical research and topics that are embodied in the needs of the public and industrial sectors.
Precisely in connection with the above, the long-standing mission of the journal MAŠINSTVO is to contribute to publishing scientific
achievements in the field of technology. The direction that MAŠINSTVO wants to follow is to publish quality papers that undergo a manda
tory peer review process, which also achieves another goal: fulfilling the prerequisites for indexing the journal.
In this double issue, the journal MAŠINSTVO offers five papers from different thematic areas. The first paper brings an analysis of the free
bending process, the second treats the optimization of the hydraulic cylinder assembly of the prosthesis, the third relates to the applica
tion of the Taguchi method in the analysis of heat transfer processes, the fourth paper relates to the research of the ‘clinching’ process, and
the fifth paper is related to the research of free vibrations of beam models.
In order to present scientific research and professional capacities, the journal follows new trends and practices in multidisciplinary areas.
We kindly invite all esteemed colleagues, especially our young colleagues from all universities and other related institutions, to take
part and publish their scientific and professional research results in this Journal, which is a significant project of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of University in Zenica and provides the opportunity for presentations of scientific research and professional research results from highlighted, and related, thematic areas. The ‘Guidelines for Authors’ section provides basic guidelines for preparing and writing
papers.
In particular sections, we continue the tradition of presenting scientific, research and economic capacities from the environment.
Sincerely,
Fuad Hadžikadunić, Editor-in-Chief
