Dear colleagues,
during the process of preparation of this double issue for the first half of 2021, the circumstances brought somewhat more serious ‘boundary conditions’ of work and action, that can be noticed in regard to deadlines for both applying and accepting papers after the peer review. For all of us who, unfortunately, have met the corona virus ‘face to face’, all the priorities in life and obligations have been reduced to only one - the preservation of life and health.

Fortunately, the continuation of activities on preparations for the realization of this double issue until June and printing was possible.

Here, the journal MAŠINSTVO brings four papers from different thematic areas: analysis of the importance of quality and adequate scientific research results that contribute to the emergence
and spread of an innovative, knowledge-based society that significantly affect the socio-economic development of the country; methods for determining the content of delta ferrite in austenitic steels as well as in weld metal; implementation of maintenance of technical systems through the application of programs which, on the basis of information obtained on the basis of monitoring the condition of equipment, give appropriate recommendations for making specific decisions on taking
intervention measures; application of numerical simulations in the development of new conceptual solutions.
In order to present scientific-research and professional capacities,
the journal follows new trends and practices in multidisciplinary
areas.
The ‘Guidelines for Authors’ section provides basic guidelines for preparing and writing papers, and we kindly invite all esteemed colleagues, especially our young colleagues from all universities and other related institutions, to take part in publishing the results of their scientific and professional research within this journal, which is a significant project of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of University in Zenica and provides the opportunity for presentations of scientific research and professional research results from highlighted, and related, thematic areas.
In particular sections, we continued the tradition of presenting scientific-research and economic capacities from the environment.
