The process as activity or set of activities uses/use resources in order to transform input parameters into the output. Each organization has a number of more or less related processes. The quality of realization of related processes with the rational use of all
necessary resources is very important for the quality of the final business result. Therefore it is very important to assess the quality of the process for further improvement. To evaluate the quality of the process is to have the appropriate measure or measurable parameters which reflect the quality of the observed process, because only what you measure to improve. Process quality represents a measure of ability, rationality (efficiency) and the timing of the process. It shows the level of achievement of planned quality and scope results of the process with the lower costs and the timing with
other related processes.
This paper presents two examples of numerical data that reflect the quality of the process, respectively its ability and efficiency. These are:
- Process capability indices, as a measure of precision and accuracy,
- The cost of process quality, as the most reliable measure of the quality of the process.
